Time Heals All Wounds… Or Does It?

You’ve heard it said that time heals all wounds. When it comes to healing, time can either be your friend or time can be your enemy.  It all depends on the lifestyle decisions you make everyday.

Is Time Your Enemy Or Your Ally?

The standard American lifestyle does not heal with time.  This lifestyle of processed food and fast food, little or no exercise, and a highly stressed nervous system causes only disease and decay with time.  Choosing this lifestyle makes time your enemy.

A Wellness Lifestyle actually creates health and healing over time.  This non-toxic lifestyle of empowering mindsets, optimal nerve supply, healing foods, and proper exercise that produces lean muscle and burns fat literally reverses disease and allows healing to occur over time.  Choosing this lifestyle makes time your ally!

When it comes to the joints of your body, especially your spine, time can become your enemy.  When there is uncorrected subluxation (misaligned spinal bones pinching nerves), Wolff’s Law causes this damage to get worse with time, leading to severe arthritis and, worse yet, a severely damaged nerve supply. Here are two common examples of chronic, uncorrected subluxation.

Scoliosis

The first picture shows a scoliosis in the lower back (lumbar spine).  A scoliosis is a sideways curvature in the spine. While several things can cause a scoliosis to develop, the most common cause is vertebral subluxation – misalignment of the spinal bones.

Kyphosis

The second picture shows a cervical kyphosis. The word cervical indicates neck and kyphosis means a forward curvature. This is exactly opposite of what normal, healthy neck should look like. A healthy neck will be curved backward forming an arc of aobut 45.  This normal positioning helps protect the delicate spinal cord inside the spine and the nerves that branch off of the spinal cord between each bone of the spine.

Wolff’s Law

When the spine is in its normal position, it is well protected.  However, when it becomes misaligned, the process of degenerative arthritis begins immediately. Wolff’s law, just like the law of gravity, happens automatically, even when we are unaware of it.  Subluxation causes scoliosis and kyphosis (straightened neck). Left uncorrected, this dramatically reduces both the quality and quantity of your life.  The ‘Time heals all wounds‘ adage is now reversed. According to medical research (Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, June 1981):

the life expectancy of a person with scoliosis is reduced by an average of 14 years due to the strain upon the heart and the reduced amount of oxygen supplied to the body.

Fourteen years – wow! However, Chiropractic Care corrects subluxation, restoring life and allowing your body to heal with time.

Unfortunately, as a Chiropractor, I have seen patients ignore their test results, ignore their black and white X-Ray demonstrating their scoliosis (or other subluxation) –  attempting to deny the damage it is doing to the nervous system and their health. I am deeply concerned by this type of mindset because I know what happens to your body, over time, with uncorrected subluxation. Time then becomes your enemy, as it is only a matter of time before your body ultimately succumbs to the effects of Subluxation nerve damage.  Don’t allow this to happen to you!

Only With An Optimized Nervous System Does Time Heal All Wounds

If you haven’t already done so, get your spine and nervous system checked for subluxation nerve damage. Correct your spine and maintain your correction with proper chiropractic care.  When you do this, time is on your side, allowing you to heal better and more efficiently.

An optimized nervous system, free of interference, is a vital component of living a Wellness Achiever Lifestyle!
