If you have celiac disease, then you are nearly twice as likely to develop CAD – coronary artery disease. This link was demonstrated in a large retrospective study presented at the American College of Cardiology 2014 Scientific Sessions last week.

Our findings reinforce the idea that chronic inflammation, whether it’s from an infection or a disease, can have an adverse role in CAD and heart health in general.“
Celiac disease is a chronic inflammatory condition of the digestive system. It damages the lining of the small intestine. As a result, absorption of important nutrients is severely inhibited. This damage is caused by an inflammatory reaction due to eating gluten, which is found in wheat, barley and rye.
Celiac disease was also linked to a 1.4 times greater risk of stroke. In past studies, celiac disease has been linked to arrhythmias and possible heart failure. This new study links celiac disease with CAD. This link appeared even in the absence of traditional cardiovascular disease risk factors.
Obamacare was championed by American Heart Association cardiologists last week. You need to understand why this support is bad for your heart health. They applauded the ‘preventive care’ services and the greater access to healthcare offered by Obamacare. However, this greater access to faux preventive care will only lead to more deaths from heart disease and strokes. Time will tell that Obamacare cannot save your heart health!
The cure for any disease seems to be quite mythical. We assume that medical research is sincerely searching for a cure for many diseases such as cancer. Yet, to this day, there has never been a drug that has cured anything. In fact, the use of the word cure has drastically declined over the last hundred years. Not only will you never find a cure for disease, you do not even want a cure for disease!
Ask yourself which you prefer: a cure or a healing? Is it better to fight and conquer disease or to support the innate healing of your body? In the vast majority of cases, disease is not a foreign invader. Rather, it is an abnormal response of your own body. Fighting disease is fighting your own body. It is counterproductive to real health.
You do not want a cure. You need healing. Healing is not a mystical concept. It is the natural state of the human body. Your body is designed to heal itself.
It’s no secret that our healthcare system is broken. More and more people are also realizing that ObamaCare is not the solution! It takes more than expanding access to our current broken sick care system. We must let go of these healthcare myths and develop a new healthcare system that is based on building real health and healing!
The American Healthcare system is filled with many inconsistencies. In the last article, we learned about these healthcare myths:
Myth #1: ObamaCare Will Save our Health Care System
Myth #2: Pharmaceutical Drugs Make You Healthy
Myth #3: Vaccination Provides Immunity
Myth #4: Low Fat Diet Foods Help You Lose Weight
Myth #5: Chiropractic Healthcare is Only for Bad Backs and Necks
In this article, we cover five more.
You have been lied to! You have been told that your high blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar and stroke recovery require prescription drugs for the rest of your life. New research shows that these drugs have likely been unnecessarily prescribed. This has placed millions of people at risk for deadly side effects due to these drugs.
This research shows that exercise is just as effective at treating heart disease and diabetes as medication. However, exercise has zero deadly side effects, making it even more effective than drugs. Further, the study showed that exercise is even more effective than drug therapy for stroke recovery. Imagine what would happen when you add rock solid nutrition to this as well!
You know that you need to exercise but you think you don’t have the time. You think that exercise is too hard or requires you to purchase a gym membership and workout in front of other people. What if you could get all the cardiovascular exercise you need in just 12 minutes a day without leaving the comfort of your own home? What if this quick exercise helped you boost your metabolism, reduce inflammation and actually reverse diabetes and heart disease? Would you be more motivated?
Coronary heart disease is the #1 killer in the United States. Accounting for 1 in every 4 deaths, it takes the lives of 600,000 people every year!(1) According the CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report(2), heart disease has been the leading cause of death since 1921. That tells me that we are doing something very wrong in the way we approach the treatment of heart disease and our health in general. There has to be a better way. Is there something more effective than the standard medical treatments?

This week, Wellness Achiever subscriber, Brian asked:
What is the best way to remove plaque from the artery walls that accumulate through eating bad foods?”
This is a great question! Fortunately, there is a much better solution than the modern medical treatment for heart disease. For the answer, we have to go back to the early days of medicine.
In the last article, Heart Disease and The Cholesterol Myth, I dispelled the myth that high cholesterol is the cause of heart disease. Cholesterol has been assumed to be the culprit because it happens to be elevated in people who have, or are developing, heart disease. It is guilty by association – a case of being caught in the wrong place at the wrong time.
It has been thought that elevated cholesterol causes death from heart attacks and strokes. Once cholesterol was identified as the enemy, a full scale war was launched to reduce cholesterol levels no matter the cost. Some drug companies have even gone so far as to suggest that statin (cholesterol lowering) drugs should be added to our water supply like fluoride!
Are you taking drugs for high blood pressure or cholesterol? You are certainly not alone. Heart disease strikes over 81 million and is responsible for one out of every three deaths (American Heart Association). Drugs are the most common treatment choice. Hypertension, high blood pressure, is a form of heart disease and it increases your risk for heart attack and stroke. This is a very dangerous problem that affects many people and has ended many lives far too early. If you have high blood pressure, or are unsure, your question should be – why do I have high blood pressure and how can my body heal from high blood pressure?
